1966 BATMOBILE MODEL 1/25 SCALE

THIS IS THE POLAR LIGHTS 1/25 SCALE BATMOBILE CUSTOMIZED TO LOOK LIKE THE CAR IN THE THIRD SEASON             OF THE SERIES. IT WAS MADE BY USING THE REGULAR KIT, THE DELUXE KIT, AND SCRATCH BUILT ITEMS

1966 Barris Batmobile model 1/25 by NMH. This is the iconic car painted and customized to be on-model to the 3rd season look. The body of the car was sprayed with 4 coats of Testor's Gloss Black enamel paint. The pinstripe color was mixed to match the cherise color they were and "hand painted" on the entire car [no water-slide decals]. The orange bat ray lenses were made from a translucent orange smartphone case, cut to size and glued in place. The door bats were the steel etched parts from deluxe kit, bent round, glued in center of doors and painted 2 coats of cerise to level them. The wheel bat knock-offs were also painted cerise and white .

Here is a shot that shows the door bat and wheel bats more clearly. Now you can see the 3 rocket tubes that were customized as well to the correct height they were orignally on the show. You can see the antenna. It is spring steel and was not glued on top of the trunk. It was put through the hole in the trunk from inside the body and krazy glued and then epoxied in place. It is in there as solidly as you can make it.
Here is the car from the front angle. You can see the pinstripe design on the nose is perfectly even on both sides. The orange bat ray lenses really look good as they are not painted, just orange plastic. The flat black grills are glued in the identical place on each side, especially the headlight covers. They are both at the same exact angle to each other.

Here is a shot from the front. The bat ray lenses are exactly even and same size. The pinstripes on the nose are even on both sides and you can see the headlight and grill covers painted flat black. The point where the pinstripes meet the chain cutter slot were painted so they look identical on both sides [not easy to do].

Here is a higher angle. You can see the door bat, wheel bats, the interior and cerise pinstripes. The 3 rocket tubes are the right size and height. The 2 outside ones are identical height to each other as well.

Here is the 1966 Batmobile and the Speed Racer Mach 5!  The Mach 5 was made in 2008 using the rare "Club M The Mach" kit from Japan. These are the 2 most world famous and iconic cars there are. Now I have both in the 1/25 scale, that I made. They are the MOST screen accurate 1/25 model versions that probably exist.
